As a member of Peoples’ Forum on MDGs (PFM) and South Asian Group of Global Call for Action Against Poverty (GCAP), and also on its own, BUP has been participating in campaigns at both national and sub-national levels. In its efforts to help strengthen the civil society movement in Bangladesh and to play an useful role in influencing the government and the political parties by providing reality checks and suggesting ways forward for achieving the specific and time-bound targets of MDG goals particularly highlighting on eradication of extreme hunger and halving the proportion of people whose income is less than one PPP dollar a day.
